Ali is a fighting loving, war-mongering, no-holds-barred bastard. =D;;; He doesn't just like battles. He LOVES them, and the only thing he values more than a good fight is his life. He can't fight if he's dead, after all. Following those two priorities comes money, because with money comes power, and with power comes the ability to do whatever you want, and what he wants... is a good fight. He's not THAT simplistic. He does have political savvy. He knows who to butter up, how to play the good little subordinate and flaunt his marketable skills, but if you show your back to him, he'll bare his fangs. He has no qualms about killing anybody. That's just a side-effect of what he likes to do, so he can live with it easy enough. He does tend to avoid getting in trouble overly much, since the powers-that-be will zero in on him and maneuvering for the most fun would be more difficult. As a student, he won't be that bloodthirsty, but he still has a violent streak.
  B A C K G R O U N D
Ali was born in the middle east from a muggle father and a witch mother. He grew up in a household where both women and children were to be seen, but never heard. His homeland hadn't ever been a very stable place to live, with terrorist cells and soldiers coming in and out all the time, so he learned to think quick to get himself out of trouble. His mother hid the fact that she was a witch, but his father eventually found out and made her life a living hell, demanding she repay him for the trust that she had broken.

To escape from this, Ali hung around the soldiers, never showing how he feared them until his fear eventually turned to curiosity and finally awe. Sitting and listening to their feats and watching their scuffles and fights, he became known around camp as a resourceful kid and got little jobs here and there. He horded all the money he could from the jobs to himself, though his father did demand it when he knew Ali had gotten paid.

With the talks of the soldiers and his father's constant mistreatment of his mother, he began to see his parents, especially his mother, as useless bags of flesh. They were weak, but he was determined not to be. When he got his letter for Hogwarts, he was thrilled, but very suspicious of his good fortune. His mother had some money saved that her father didn't know about -which got her another beating- and Ali used his own savings. He went to Hogwarts and never looked back, taking everything he learned as another thing to make him better, stronger, faster so he could do what he wanted to do.
